Macie, her sister, and her Mom were so fun to work with. I asked what they wanted, they told me, then they let me do what I wanted to do. You can't ask for any more.

It was late in the afternoon and it was sweet light outside...perfect weather for a trip from the country to the city!

Did I mention that she has the most beautiful green/hazel eyes? They changed with the light....check her out!

I love repeat clients. It really gives you a chance to watch people grow and change over time. Madie and Ellie are two of my favorite girls. It has been fun to see the changes from last year to this year. They are so full of life and fun. They are so loved...you can see it in their eyes, the way they communicate with their parents, their security in themselves.

Look at them. You can almost hear their high pitched squeals and shouts as they run freely around the field. Their enthusiasm is contagious.

Their curiosity...never ending. Oh to be four again :)

There is never a dull moment when I get the opportunity to photograph Colton. He is always so accommodating and willing to try almost anything. He tries so hard to hold that "serious look" but always fails at the very last second.

There is so much that you could say about Colton.....athletic, funny, a typical teenager.
However, he is also considerate, charming and devoted to his little sister. Just ask his mother.

Did I mention that he is rather good-looking too?

You just can't help but love Colton.....we do.

School's Back In Session

So funny...school's back in session. It seems like summer gets shorter and shorter every year. I can't believe I have a junior this year! Thought I would share a few fun pics of my junior with everyone.

Bridal Show

Another bridal show...finished. I was really pleased with how well the booth turned out. I had such a hectic morning on the day of the show...I had to put my husband on an airplane at 6:30 that morning.

The To Thee I Wed Bridal Show was at Louisiana Downs this year. It gave it a completely different feel from last year's show at the civic center.

As always, it was fun to hang out and talk to other vendors. I really enjoyed getting a chance to visit with Tammy Muecke and Terrie Perez. They are two other awesome photographers that live in the Shreveport-Bossier area. They both had great booths.

Stefan and Shannon, my assistants, helped man the booth...which made my life much easier. Thanks a bunch!

It was time for new family images with the increased family. Three rowdy Pomeranians...need I say anymore about how short this shoot was. I think Donna did great considering that she was sweating by the time we got to her individual shots.

This last one was my favorite. Everyone knows that I love, love, LOVE the unposed black and whites.

These were a little earlier than you would normally do maternity pictures, but we wanted to get them done when we could. There were so many that I liked...but I just picked a few to put up. I had so much fun doing these because Jin was willing to do whatever I wanted. That's always a bonus.

I had forgotten how fun it is to be at the ballpark. When we went and shot T-ball pics today, Stefan I spent most of our time reminiscing over the years that he played t-ball.

I loved being out there today....reliving just a few moments of Stefan's youth. Thanks so much for inviting us out Sheryl.

Well...technically he was 16 in January, but it took us until Spring Break to do any pictures. Then it took me a few more weeks to get a few posted. It seems like we never take pictures of our own kids.

I have been involved with an incredible organization for the past two years - Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. Not many people know about NILMDTS , but it is a very unique organization. As a person that has suffered a miscarriage, it was an obvious choice for me to work with this organization.

This past Friday I had the opportunity to photograph baby boy Remington for Josh and Ashley. I can not tell you how honored and humbled I was to be allowed to share in this time with them. Baby Remington was stillborn at 36 weeks last Friday. They were so grateful and kind even as they were dealing with their own grief. Please keep them in your prayers as they bury their little boy today.

Assistant with the Most Personality: Stefan Foster

OK...so I am definitely partial to this guy. I've only known him all of his life. My son, who turned 16 today, is turning into one of my greatest assets on location shoots. He can almost read my mind and set up shots before I tell him what I want. And all the little kids just love him. And so do I. Thanks for all you help son.

And of course, there are my wonderful friends that show infinite support. Thanks to all....looking forward to a great 2008!!!

FYI - Dropped Emails

If you have emailed me in the last 24 hours, there is a good chance that I didn't receive it. As I mentioned earlier, my DSL has been out for 24 hours.....hence no emails. Which shouldn't be a problem, because I should have received them when the DSL came back up.....right?

Well guess again....the overload on the server caused a timeout and I received a nice little email from Tech Support letting me know that I had several dropped emails as a result of the timeout.

So if you haven't received a response from an email that you sent, please resend it or call me.

I wanted to say thanks to all my friends and clients who have been so helpful and considerate over the past few weeks.

For those that don't know, my sister-in-law had a major heart attack a couple of weeks ago and ended up going through a quadruple bypass. I am thankful to say that she has finally been moved out of ICU and is looking at the possibility of going home maybe by this weekend. It has been a rough three weeks.

I appreciate ALL of your prayers, emails, and phone calls. It has meant so very much to my family.

That said, it's going to be busy around this blog for the next week. Check daily for new images.

Let's see, first we had to reschedule due to the late hour and lack of light, then we had to reschedule due to illness, then the day wasn't right....I was beginning to wonder if it would ever come together.

When we finally made it, I think it ended up turning out all right.

I must admit this last one is one of my favorites...the magic of catching them when they are playing...completely oblivious to what is going on around them. You can just barely see Kimbrell as she passes through the frame behind her sister who is gleefully spinning away. These are the moments!

Once a child has warmed up in a session, it can be difficult to get them not to smile. It's like they are just meant to bubble over with smiles and laughter. I think Carter really nailed the "now don't smile" photos.

But don't get fooled by these shots, when given the opportunity, he smiled just as much as the rest.

A mother's love. But it is so very easy to see in the quiet and still way that a mother holds her baby. Charlene wanted sweet Makaela to smile, but it was not happening the other day. Instead, we got these precious shots of a tired baby in her mother's arms. I can't decide whether I like the color version or the black and white better. You decide.

However, don't think that Makaela was entirely still during our outing...
